Material
Material Description – 100% Natural Virgin Wool from Colombia
The Nobsa rug is crafted from 100% pure virgin wool, sourced exclusively from the first shearing of the sheep. Only the youngest and finest part of the wool fiber is used, ensuring a smooth, uniform texture free from straw, plant residues, or other natural particles.
This high-quality wool is harvested in the Colombian highlands, where the climate provides ideal conditions for sheep farming. The fibers are naturally breathable, durable, and offer thermal regulation, making the rug comfortable in both warm and cool environments.
Dyeing Process – Handcrafted with Natural Pigments
The wool undergoes a three-day preparation and dyeing process, carried out entirely by hand. Using natural pigments and plant-based dyes, the fibers are treated in small batches to ensure quality and consistency.
After cleaning and combing, the wool is dyed in large vats, allowing the color to be absorbed slowly and evenly. This method results in rich, vibrant tones with subtle variations and natural shading—hallmarks of hand-dyed wool and a testament to the craftsmanship of Colombian artisans.
