Hundreds of shades of red, rocky reefs shaped by the wind, a fascinating interplay of light and shadow: when you visit the Tatacoa Desert, you enter a land from another time. The Belgian designer Charlotte Lancelot, known for designs full of optical illusions and abstract shapes, took that land of the Tatacoa Desert and transferred it to an artistic carpet made of fique fibers. A process that takes five days alone before the individual, colorful strands are woven into an abstract weave of orange, red and brown. The rugs are mostly produced by women, experts in their work and at the same time heads of their families, who need at least 15 days in total for the small rug version.
